Snow floats cold and white
School's out this wintery day
Freedom shrieks outside.
Uncovered in play
A class of snowy angels
learns in my backyard.
Red noses and hands
cavort until they tingle
in the chilly white.
The house settles in
noise softened by snow's blanket
a cold sleepy day.
Tuck under a throw
coffee and breakfast in hand
quiet contentment.

As much as I hate snow - I must say that it sounds beautiful.
Ditto Maria. Great Haiku.
Lovely 'Ku about your unexpected snow day and the lovely way you're managing it. Thanks for your visit and the b-day wishes too!
Hugs and blessings,
a snow day, how beautiful!
Lady, you know how to enjoy a snow day! Coziness emanates from your haiku series!
Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my blog. :)
You manage to make it sound so cozy and beautiful. Which is amazing since I am SO SICK of the snow.
Well done!
Quiet contentment? That's an oxy-moron at our house. BEAUTIFUL ku!
ooh, that was beautiful. :)
I left the Northeast because of the snow but I do miss that quiet hush everything gets while it is snowing.
And a snow day with the kids. Sounds wonderful.
Happy Friday!
what a wonderful Haiku, sounds like fun, and written in such a peaceful way :)
awesome ku. almost makes me yearn for snow. please note i said almost.
That was lovely. I'm ready for spring, but a haiku like that helps me appreciate the beauty of winter.
I'm with Maria. I don't do well in cold, but it sounds so peaceful.
